The arrival of the iPhone 4S hasn't diminished fan interest in the much-anticipated 5th version of this device. What is known about the new generation of Apple smartphones?
Most likely, despite the demands of the founder of the company, the legendary Steve Jobs, the appearance of the phone will change. iPhone 5 will be 8mm longer, 4-inch display and metal body. Still, there is no need to wait for a drop-shaped body that is thinning downwards, demonstrated by many Internet resources, since in horizontal orientation such a smartphone becomes not very functional.
However, this is the first time that Jobs has violated Jobs' covenants, driven by the company's desire to keep up with the latest Android smartphones, especially Samsung's 4.3-inch Galaxy S II.
It is assumed that the screen of the new iPhone will occupy the entire front surface and have a higher pixel density, which will provide higher resolution and color reproduction. According to some reports, the smartphone will receive a patented glass shock protection system that uses signals from the built-in accelerometer to create a protective cushion between the glass cover and the interior of the device.
Another expected innovation may be the compatibility of the iPhone 5 with 4G LTE (Long-Term Evolution) networks, which will increase the speed of receiving and sending data over the network. Until now, this has not been possible due to the need for larger PCBs and batteries, which would increase the thickness of the iPhone, but the latest developments from Qualcomm allow us to hope for a new LTE chip with a smaller size.
According to some sources, the 5th model will be equipped with a touch panel instead of a mechanical button on the front panel and equipped with a 10-megapixel camera, as opposed to the 8-megapixel one used in the iPhone 4S.
There is no doubt the further integration of the acclaimed Siri application into the new model, as well as the expansion of the functionality of the voice assistant itself.
The estimated date for the appearance of the iPhone 5 is considered to be the period from the beginning of June 2012 to the end of next year.
