Unlike most mp3 players, which record music like a regular flash card, uploading files to an iPod is not an easy task. To replenish the audio library of this device, you need to use special software.
Instructions
Step 1
Download and install iTunes before connecting your iPod to your computer and recording any information on it. All operations for adding, changing and deleting data from the device are performed only using this program.
Step 2
Launch iTunes, select "Add File to Library" or "Add Folder to Library" from the "File" menu. In the window that opens, select the files or folders you want to add. Audio files of the following formats can be added to the program: MP3, AAC, AIFF, WAV, Audible.com and Apple Lossless, you can also add wma files, in this case iTunes will convert them to one of the supported formats. If the "Copy to iTunes Media folder when adding to library" checkbox is selected in the program settings, the files will be copied to a special program folder.
Step 3
Connect your iPod to your computer. Direct recording to iPod can be done in two ways.
To automatically record your library, select your iPod in the "Devices" list on the left side of the program window. Go to the "Music" tab on the right side of the program window. Check the "Sync Music" checkbox. Use the toggle to select what to record on the iPod, All Songs and Playlists, or Selected Playlists. Click the Synchronize button.
Step 4
You can also add music to your iPod manually. Highlight the device in the list of devices, go to the "Overview" tab and check the "Process music and video manually" checkbox.
Step 5
In the "Media Library" section, highlight the "Music" item. In the right part of the window, select the necessary items and drag them to the iPod icon, after which recording will begin, in the same way, playlists created in iTunes can be recorded.
Step 6
After the end of the recording, select the iPod in the list of devices, select the "Eject" item in the context menu, or click the button next to the device name.
