The car radio can noticeably brighten your stay on the road - both on a long trip and in the process of ordinary driving on city roads. To make the musical accompaniment in the car delight you even more, you can connect an active subwoofer to the radio tape recorder, which amplifies the sound, makes it more powerful and gives the sound a special bright color. In this article, you will learn how to properly connect an active subwoofer to a radio tape recorder that supports the connection of such devices.
Instructions
Step 1
Select the place in the car where you will install the subwoofer, and supply power there from the car battery or cigarette lighter, observing the polarity.
Step 2
To adjust the power of the subwoofer, install a capacitor on it by connecting it to the power of the subwoofer. The presence of a capacitor will reduce too much stress on the voltage of the entire electrical network of the vehicle.
Step 3
For connections on the subwoofer, use the cinch connector and power screw terminals. Connect the subwoofer to the vehicle's mains, making sure that the polarities are correct and the capacitor is installed correctly, also observing the polarities.
Step 4
After installing the subwoofer, adjust the subwoofer - limit its upper limit (Turnover) by turning the corresponding control on the subwoofer.
Step 5
Also, if your subwoofer has a Phase button that adjusts the speaker wobble phase, leave it disabled, or enable it to set the wobble phase value to 180.
Step 6
Try to achieve a harmonious combination of the frequency response of your subwoofer and your midrange speakers. Adjust the upper frequency of the subwoofer so that the characteristics do not interfere with each other if the subwoofer implies the ability to adjust this parameter.
Step 7
In addition to connecting an active subwoofer, you also have the option of installing a passive subwoofer in your car if the radio does not support connecting an active device.
