When taking digital photos, as a rule, devices - digital cameras and camcorders, DSLR cameras, mobile phones and tablet computers - save information about the device model in the photo, as well as some data about the optics settings during shooting.

Step 1
After processing the photo in the photo editor, it will be impossible to find out what the photo was captured on. Also, when transferring photos via social networks and Internet services that use compression, all information about the device on which the photo was taken is completely erased.
Therefore, you can find out information about the photo device only if you have the original unedited photos.
Step 2
To do this, select the digital photo file you are interested in on your computer and right-click on it. In the context menu, select the final item "Properties". The properties window for this photo will open in front of you.
Step 3
Click the Details tab. In it you will see two columns: "Property" and "Value". Also in this tab you will see the categories of properties and values, and the first one is "Description". Find the category "Camera" - it is in this category that you will see information about the shooting device. The name of the camera manufacturer and model will be displayed here. If it is a smartphone or tablet, you will see the name and model of this unit, for example, HTC Desire (smartphone) or Apple iPad (tablet)
In addition to the brand name of the manufacturer and the model of the optics, you can view the following image parameters, as follows:
- diaphragm;
- exposure;
- ISO speed;
- exposure compensation;
- focal length;
- luminosity;
- exposure metering;
- distance to the object;
- flash mode and its energy;
- focal length, equiv. 35 mm.
Step 4
Further, if the camera is professional, you will see a block of information about the camera lens - manufacturer and model, its flash, as well as the serial number of the camera.
