Instructions
Step 1
Select the TV tuner that suits your needs and is suitable for your computer. Usually these devices are connected to the USB port of a laptop or desktop computer, or they are attached to a PCI slot on the motherboard. It is recommended to use the second type when connecting to a stationary PC.
Step 2
Connect the selected TV tuner to the PCI slot and turn on the computer. Install the software bundled with this device. If you do not have a disc available, then visit the official website of the manufacturer of this TV tuner and download the required program from there.
Step 3
Connect the antenna cable to the dedicated jack of the TV tuner. In this case, you can use both a regular indoor antenna and a satellite dish connected through a receiver.
Step 4
Run the installed software. Activate automatic channel search if it has not already been tuned in the receiver. Make fine adjustments to the image quality and save the settings.
Step 5
Now go to sound setting. If you are dealing with a budget TV tuner model, then open the program designed to control the sound card. If such a program is not installed, then open the control panel and go to the "Sound" menu.
Step 6
Specify the desired TV tuner for the main audio output sources. The disadvantage of this method of tuning is that you have to constantly switch between the TV tuner and the sound card.
Step 7
Most of the new models of TV tuners are equipped with a special cable with connectors at both ends for connecting to a sound card (3.5 mm). Connect this cable to the audio out jack of the TV tuner and to the audio in port of your sound card.
Step 8
Be sure to specify the purpose of the selected port when configuring your sound card. Now you can simultaneously play sound from both the TV tuner and computer programs.
