When the bank issues a card to its client, it also issues a secret code with which you can use the card through a terminal or ATM. The PIN is a four-digit combination. It is important that this code does not fall into the hands of third parties. Therefore, it is recommended to keep this information separate from the card itself in a safe place.
The PIN code of the bank card must be remembered, because without it it will not be possible to withdraw cash through an ATM. In most cases, without knowing the code, you will not be able to pay by card in the store.
What to do if the owner has forgotten the PIN code and there is no way to fill this gap in memory? In this case, you should contact the branch of the bank where the card was issued and write an application for blocking the card.
There is no other option, because the code that was issued to the client by the employees is not recorded anywhere in the banking system. It exists only in paper form in order to protect the cardholder from fraudulent activities.
First, the card is blocked, then, at the request of the client, it is reissued. In this case, the card number is saved, and a new PIN is obtained. It is issued, as before, in a paper, opaque envelope.
If the cardholder tries to remember the forgotten code, then it should be remembered that after three incorrectly entered combinations, the card will be blocked by the system. The card can be unblocked by calling the bank's service center, giving the passport data and the code word. But again, if the PIN code is entered incorrectly three times, the blocking will be repeated automatically.
