Step 1
Call a representative of your mobile operator and ask this question. To whom this number is registered, you will not be told, but from which region the call was made, you must answer. They have no reason to hide this information from you.
Step 2
You can also find out where they called you via the Internet. Upload the phone code to the search engine. Every country, every region and even every city has its own personal telephone code. If you only need to know the country from which the call was made, these codes are on Wikipedia.
Step 3
More information can be found at mtt.ru. Go to this site and at the very bottom of the page in the "About the Company" section, find the "Reference Information" tab. When you open this page, you will see a menu window on the left side.
Step 4
If you think that you called from Russia, select the line "Codes of mobile operators" from the menu. Enter the caller's phone code in the top box with the name "DEF Code". This will be enough. All other fields can be left blank. Click on the inscription "Filter". The computer will give you the name of the area where the call was made and information about the range of numbers that make up the phone numbers in that area.
Step 5
In the case when the call was made from abroad, in the menu you need to press the line "International and long distance codes". Skip the line labeled Country. In the second from the top field, enter the code of this number and click the "Filter" button.
Step 6
The mtt site has the most convenient reference book, but the most recent data is posted on the communication site of the Russian Federation. Unfortunately, links to it do not go through, so in the search engine you need to type in the full name "Extract from the register of the Russian system and numbering plan".
