Damage to the windshield can not only impair the driver's visibility to the road environment, but also cause more complex problems, such as corrosion of the steel backing and damage to the integrity of the glass. Therefore, when cracks and chips appear on the glass, it is advisable to replace it in time.

Instructions
Step 1
Examine the damaged glass and adjacent surfaces to identify what could interfere with the quality installation of the new glass (dents, scratches, corrosion). If you find serious damage to the frame, it is advisable to seek professional advice.
Step 2
Protect your vehicle from possible damage that may occur when replacing glass. To do this, lay a waterproof or vinyl cloth on the painted surfaces next to the windshield. Otherwise, removing the old glass and installing a new one can damage the paintwork. Tape off the openings in the windshield heater, located outside under the windshield, to keep foreign matter out.
Step 3
Detach the wipers and the metal surround around the glass. The metal edging is removed with a special tool (pliers). Place the tool under one of the bezel sections and pull towards the center of the windshield. Do the same with the rest of the edging sections.
Step 4
Use a knife to cut through the adhesive supporting the damaged glass. Also use a chisel to loosen the glass in the nest.
Step 5
To remove damaged glass, use a special tool equipped with suction cups.
Step 6
Prepare the surfaces for attaching the new glass and the glass itself. Clean the newly installed glass from possible dirt. Apply bonding agent to the fastening surface.
Step 7
Using a syringe, fill the seams with a special compound to apply a continuous strip around the entire perimeter of the windshield hole.
Step 8
Install the new windshield using the suction cup. Replace the bezel, attach the wipers and clean the glass again with a cleaning compound.
