In September 2017, Berlin hosted an international trade fair for household appliances, at which many different companies showed new devices. Among the new products presented were a couple of new inexpensive smartphones: alcatel A7 and A7 XL.
Description
Alcatel A7 and A7XL, although they belong to the same line of smartphones from alcatel, are strikingly different in appearance, technical characteristics and price. Both smartphones, despite their differences in price, belong to the middle class of devices and cannot be equal in performance to the popular flagships of recent years.
The alcatel A7 case is made of polycarbonate, making the device lightweight and sufficiently protected from physical damage. Its older version can withstand much more serious damage as it is made of a much stronger metal body. Although it also has plastic inserts, without which the phone would not be able to receive a mobile signal or wifi. Both smartphones are additionally protected by tempered glass, which is difficult to break or scratch.
The screen on the Alcatel A7 occupies 72% of the area of the front part, while on the A7XL the screen occupies 75% of the area. The A7 XL version is slightly larger than the budget version. Its dimensions are 159.6mm x 81.5mm x 8.65mm, versus 152.7mm x 76.5mm x 8.95mm for the alcatel A7. Due to its smaller size and light body, the latter weighs only 165 grams, which is 10 grams lighter than its older model.
Alcatel a7 is only available in black. The A7 XL has a choice of black, red, blue and silver body colors.
Characteristics
The display of the screen of the alcatel A7 is 5.5 inches, the A7 XL 6 has a little more - 6 inches. The rest of the displays are identical to each other. IPS matrix with a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels, excellent brightness. Due to its larger screen size, the alcatel XL has a lower pixel density than the A7. Although, according to the reviews of the owners, this is not particularly noticeable.
The processors are very weak even for the mid-budget level. Both devices are equipped with an eight-core mediatek MT6753 processor, operating at a frequency of up to 1.5 GHz. Graphics accelerator mali-T860 MP2 with a frequency of up to 550 MHz.
Both alcatel A7 and alcatel A7 XL have 3 GB of RAM and 32 GB of permanent memory. There is a possibility of expansion with memory cards up to 128 GB.
The alcatel A7 camera has a resolution of 16 megapixels, dual flash. Front camera 5 MP. Shooting video in fullHD 30fps.
The alcatel A7XL has a similar situation. Dual 12MP and 2MP cameras with dual flash and fullHD 30fps video recording.
