It is easy to recognize the operator by the three-digit code that follows the number 8 (or +7) in any SIM card number. Its other name is the DEF code or "prefix". These prefixes are assigned to operators by the Federal Communications Agency. The codes of the most popular mobile operators in the country (Beeline, Megafon, MTS, Tele2) are recognizable and usually easily recognized. If you don't know the code, there are also databases on the Internet with codes of cellular operators. You can even find out the date of registration of the SIM card. The Beeline operator has the following codes: 903, 905, 906, 909, 963, 965 in Moscow and the Moscow region; 960, 962 in the Omsk region, etc. Operator codes "Megafon" - from 920 to 931 and 937. Codes 910-919 and 980-988 belong to "MTS".
